2nd ROUND OF FOURSOMES CHAMPIONSHIPS 27/9/2011

Today was our 2nd and final round of our Gross foursomes championships. The weather was a great improvement on last week and 28 ladies entered the daily competition, and one lady ( thanks Diane!) accompanied 2 of our ladies around to score their card!

Our winners of the championship with a score today of gross 97  added to last weeks gross of 91 = 188 were :-     Sheree Wetton and Barb Bright   -      Congratulations Ladies!!
and our runners up for the championship were :-  Gail Dodd and Milica Cole with a gross 96 today added to last weeks gross of 103 = 199 - also Congratulations!!

The winners of our daily competition  with a wonderful 100 gross and if you don't mind 56.5 nett were
Joan Coombs (44 handicap) accompanied by our talented junior Sheradyn Johnson ( handicap 43):- Congratulations to you also, ladies!!

Nearest the pin on the 4th Hole was Helen Danson, and pro-balls were awarded to Joan Coombs, Sheradyn Johnson,Lyn Greer, Kay Pridgett, Glenn Barber, Lorraine Duncan.


After Golf today we said Good-Bye to Fairlie Ramsden, who has been a stalwart of this golf club for many years. Fairlie is moving away from the district and we wish her all the best in the future- and we hope to see her back visiting in the not too distant future!!

Also it would be remiss not to mention a good luck to Glenn Barber who on Friday will be playing in the semi-final of the District "C" Grade Championship at Sorrento, and hopefully she may be playing in the afternoon in the Final........Many good lucks from all of us Glenn !!!

Saturday's Ladies Competition.

Hello everybody and Margo.
Here we are again, another week gone by and being a beautiful day today though very cold and windy 12 Ladies and 1 Junior managed to play good round of golf.

Stableford was played today and the winner with a wonderful score of 40 points was Jo Kelly with h/c 23 Well done Jo!
Runner up was Penny McCathy with 35 points on a c/b from Helen Danson and our junior member Sheryn Johnson. Keep it up.

We would like to see more girls playing on a saturday, not many clubs have golf for Ladies on a saturday, so please take advantage of being able to play on that day.

FOURSOMES CHAMPIONSHIPS 1ST ROUND 20/9/2011

Today 28 ladies played in the 1st round of our foursome championships. The weather was cold and windy and somewhat wet in places, especially for some unfortunate ladies who were trying to hit across the lake on to the 12th green during a hailstorm!... Well that,s Melbourne! what happened to the sunny 29 degrees we had yesterday!!


Our Winners with a lovely nett 66 ( gross 91) were
Barb Bright ( h'cap 29) and Sheree Wetton ( h'cap 21)

Runners up with another nice score of nett 71 ( gross 102) were
Lyn Greer ( h'cap 30) and Kay Pridgett (h'cap 32)

Nearest the Pin on 4th Hole was Maggie Clarke

and pro-balls went to the following ladies

Saturday's Ladies Competition

Saturday 17th September
The weather being so good is bringing more of our ladies back to playing golf saturday. It was lovely to see 13 of our ladies playing.
Next week I hope there will be even more of our members playing, it is a wonderful day playing on a saturday especially on a lovely spring day.

Guest Day

Tuesday 13th September was our guest day,
The weather was delightful, we had 15 lady members who brought a guest along and a wonderful day was had by all.   The committee did a great job with the lunch and didn't the tables look great.  It did look very nice and very professional.  Many thanks to all who planned and worked to make this day a really great successful day.

1st ROUND PRESIDENTS'TROPHY TUESDAY 23RD AUGUST 2011

Today we played the 1st round of the Presidents' Trophy. We played "PAR"

The weather was magnificent, which everyone appreciated!

Our winners on this beautiful day were:-

B grade :-  Pam Scholtz ( handicap 36 ) with a very nice even !- well done Pam!
R/Up was Denise Law ( handicap 35 ) also a nice -1

C grade:-  Joan Coombs (handicap 45 ) also a very nice even! Congratulations Joan!

Well Done to all ladies!  We look forward to next week - Stableford Round!

SATURDAY PAR ROUND 20TH AUGUST 2011

Beautiful Sunny weather brought 9 ladies out to play golf today!!!

We played Par, and our winner was:-


DONNA LOOKER  (handicap 36) with an even score - well done Donna!

our runner-up was Leonie Hamilton (handicap 40) with a nice -1 - Congratulations!

NTP - was Sheradyn Johnson ( 1st shot 4th Hole) - watch out for Sheradyn in years to come ! she will be a force to be wreckoned with !!

FLAG DAY 16TH AUGUST 2011

In this Flag Competition the score taken on each hole is entered on a card as in a stroke round. When a player has completed a number of strokes equal to the par of the course plus their stroke handicap they will have finished the round. The first player in each division will carry a flag, and plant it where the ball lay at the finish of their round. If a subsequent player has not finished  when they reach the flag, they will then carry it with them- and so on!!

We had quite a fun day, and the victors were:-

B Grade:-      Pam Scholtz (handicap 36) who still had 4 shots left when she came in on 18th Hole,and as there were no more B graders left in the field- she became the winner - Congratulations Pam!!

C Grade:-  Marg Carroll (handicap 45) who won on 18th !! Well Done Marg.

The weather started off really quite wet, but sunshine after the 10th Hole - it was quite a FUN DAY!

President's Team versus Captain's Team Challenge

Winning team today was the President's Team, congratulations to the girls in the President's team

We played stableford today.

Todays winner "B" grade was Sheree Wetton h/c 21 score of 35 Points.

Today started a little bit cool but we soon warmed u,p when the sun came out you realised that summer isn't far away.

Winner today was Glen Barber h/c 42 with a nett score of 70
Runner up was Sheradyn Johnson our 10 year old junior h/c 45 net score 71
Well done!

August Monthly Medal

Hello!  Today was monthly medal, as the course was still a bit damp, our Captain Jenny thought we should play stableford today.

No monthly medal winner as it was a tied score so next month they will have a play off.
